Such a beautiful awakening to LOVE's presence. LOVE beckons multiple times every day to all of us. NO exceptions. Will you have the eyes to see LOVE's call and say "yes"?
I basically try to make this my job. Spot the good each day and write little stories about it. Don't always succeed. But I try and I've become happier for it.
Oh, I love everything about this story. It is so well written and such a hopeful message. But what you've written right here in this comment is next level. What a job you have!! Thanks for the inspiration. 💜
Reading your new book Shy By Design is full of moments to notice LOVE's presence and use them to connect more deeply to self, life and other people! Celebrating your book and seeing it making a difference in my life and the lives of other people.
Kristin, your words are truly inspiring and remind us of the importance of being open to love. How do you practice staying attuned to love's presence in your daily life?
I love this!! What a serendipitous meeting of your wife!! Reminds me of how I met my partner, and the many similar series of "if he hadn't done this..." "if my ex hadn't done that..." "if he hadn't stepped on Trail the exact day he did.." "if I decided not to full-send that long hike..." it's beautiful that love stories like yours exist!
Thanks! I'm writing about it on my Substack in my Trail Logs series, which details my 900 mile Appalachian Trail hike. This is where I was when I met my current partner!
This reminds me beautifully of my husband and I - how we became our story (nearly 20 years ago).
It’s wonderful to hear and experience your perspectives of the love connection you made with your wife.
I’m new to Substack and feel that I’ve found a wonderful community of like-minded writers who express themselves so deeply. I’m inspired to start writing again.
Hard to believe that story is real life. It sounds like the beginning of an incredible romance novel. The moment her story and my story became our story.... poetry.
Hey Marjiiiii. So great seeing your name here and glad you liked this one. Maybe one day sooner than later I'll switch to novel writing but for now 600 word posts feels right as my fingers hurt;). I'm sure I'll bug you on WhatsApp sooner than later but sending a massive hug for now.
I just love how you can recreate the most beautiful moments with your writing... I feel so moved and present after reading this. What an absolutely BEAUTIFUL story to how you two met. 🥹✨️💕
All the twists and turns certainly do bring us to where we are today, even though some felt hard in the moment, I wouldn’t change a thing. Beautiful story.
Thank you Alexis. I like the idea of we are exactly where we need to be for life to unfold the way it was designed to. Kinda gives me hope on shitty days.
What a lovely tribute to your wife. I think about this often too - there are no mistakes. Everything happens just the way it should, and it propels us forward to this. very. moment. 💙
Thank you Teri. This is one of those posts where I feel like I blacked-out and a bunch of thoughts that were running around my head began to make sense.
GAH!! OMG Michael you both just melted my heart into a puddle of LOVE!! This love story...a story of life. Wow. Thank you for sharing what magic can unfold when we choose to stop and be.

Thank you Niki. I'd love to read about your "If I hadn't done that..." experiences one day.

Hey Karina and welcome to Substack. I'm loving it here also and feel like I've finally found an online home due to the community here.

PS: would you read (aka buy) a collection of these short stories? That I can do and would like to do once I catch my breath.
I thought the same thing!! I would read this book!
Thank you Katherine.

Thank you Megan. So glad you liked it. Been loving your newsletter and keep swearing.
So good 💛 & thank you so much! 😄
Masterclass.
I think I’m getting somewhere with writing and then I get schooled again by 800 words from you.
There’s no one like you Mr. Michael Thompson.
Haha and thank you. I've got a few years head start on you;).

I love this. very. moment.
If. . . such a powerful two letter word. . . that can be turned into so many profound acronyms.
• Imaginary friend
• Impossible feat
• Impending fate
I love your use of this tiny word to say so much. If is a word of potential. In your case, potential that became real.
Thank you Teri. This is one of those posts where I feel like I blacked-out and a bunch of thoughts that were running around my head began to make sense.
This was so very beautiful, I felt like I was right there while reading it.
Thank you Freya. It was a fun one to write.
Beautiful story, congratulations 👏
Thank you Ramon.
Whew this was beautiful. Thanks for sharing your love story. The moments in our lives really do matter and everything truly does happen for a reason.
Thank you BEE. Means a lot.
You're welcome!
Lovely story, all those decisions that lead to love. Nice.
Thank you Os for taking the time to stop by.

So glad you liked it Gladys. This was a fun one for sure. Gotta stop from time to time to think about the magic (especially in times like this).
